Engsi, a tent door rug to cover the entrance to the tent, Turkmenistan, late 19th century.  Tekke engsis follow the same format of upper and lower panels divided by a horizontal panel and a vertical pole, and the classical sequence of borders. All wool. The original braiding at the bottom end is retained. The engsi is overall in very good condition
