Qashqai khorjin, Iran, late 19th century, all wool.

A wonderful quality weaving with an unusual piled central panel depicting two birds, and a beautiful kelim back with concentric diamonds. Twill weave and brocading on the ends, original loops.  This is an exceptional bag, maybe made for a wedding?
