Description

This antique Yuzen Birodo dates to the late 19th or early 20th century, so it is set in the Meiji period.

Like its near pair (see https://www.christopherleggeorientalcarpets.com/products/view/yuzen-birodo/), it depicts the same rural scene, with the exclusion of the bridge and the Torii and caught at a slightly different angle. It shows the same fineness of the drawing.

This Yuzen Birodo is signed in the bottom right hand corner (see additional image). The backing is the same as in the previous post.
