Antique Sindh Embroidery

2.05m x 1.35m / 6’9’’x 4’5’’

Silk embroidery made in Sindh which was a part of India at the time the textile was made in the late 19th century.

The embroidery is worked in the classic Sindhi colours of pink/red silk, with the dye derived from cochineal,  and green silk on cotton. The textile has been conserved and mounted on a stretcher. It is very slightly stained, but  otherwise in good condition.
