Description

Northwest Persian, made around 1900. Small khorjin (double-sided bag) in mixed technique of soumak and kilim, all in wool. It is designed to hold small items, probably valuables.  The pattern of diamonds in the field is echoed by a chain of smaller diamonds in the border. The khorjin has one small repair to the back, but is overall in good condition and is still retaining the original loops for closing each bag.
