Antique 19th century Kurdish Kelleh

Antique 19th century Kurdish Kelleh

reference:  6706

This long carpet of kelleh proportions was made in the late 19th century in the Kurdish part of Iran. The field on a dark blue ground is an all-over Herati design, enclosed by a sequence of borders with a meander of floral patterns. It has beautiful, saturated colours, all naturally dyed.  Wool pile on a wool foundation, very good condition
