This decorative Persian Mahal carpet dates to around 1900.

The all-over floral design in a wide range of soft reds, blues, greens and yellows on an off-white ground is highly sought after by private customers and interior decorators alike. The main border on a dark blue ground echoes the design of the field. It is flanked by three minor borders framing the field in a very satisfactory manner.

The squarish size, too, is a pleasing attribute.
