Description

Made by a member of the Qashqai tribe and dated 1327, which translates into 1909 in our calendar. Birds and three pairs of lions, which are a popular feature in Persian iconography, and plant and geometrical designs populate the field. The three white-ground medallions are filled with flower heads, leaves, cypress trees and birds, giving this carpet a richness which is underlined by the lustrous wool, excellent dyes and fine weave.
