19th century Kurdish Jaf bag face
Description
Kurdish bag face made by a member of the Jaf tribe in the late 19th century.
The field design is a classic Jaf pattern of concentric diamonds which are hooked in the second layer. One white diamond near the centre is standing out, which is a feature frequently found in Jaf bags of this type.
Wool on a wool foundation, with great quality of wool and dyes. Some corrosion in the black, overall good condition.
