Early 19th-century Indian silk rug

ref: 6105)

Silk pile on a silk foundation, with multi-coloured silk warps. The lac-red flower heads form a repetitive pattern on a light ground, enclosed by multiple borders. This is an elegant example of a late Moghul-period carpet. Small ares of slightly low pile in the borders, minor repairs to bottom guard stripe, otherwise very good condition POR
