Christopher
Legge, “a stalwart of the English antique rug trade”
(HALI 136, p.133), has over 30 years experience in antique oriental
carpets. He is particularly passionate about tribal rugs. Frequent
visits to Iran ensure an ever widening in-depth knowledge of Persian
village and tribal rugs as well as a steady supply of fresh goods.
He is also known to a large number of people for his spirited and
learned talks on oriental carpets and has started to share his knowledge
and enthusiasm with groups he takes to Iran to visit the bazaars
and the sights.
Important exhibitions in the past have included Tibetan rugs, Turkoman
weavings, prayer rugs, saddle bags, Kurdish Jaf bags and a show
of Wagirehs in March 2004.
The gallery maintains a presence at international carpet conferences
and fairs, such as ACOR, ICOC and the Hali Fair. |
